Install Your Bot From Studio

Install Your Bot

Installing your Authava bot takes one line of code. In Studio, open your bot and go to Deploy. Copy the script tag shown there and add it to your website.

How Do I Install The Bot?

  1. In Studio, open your bot and go to Deploy.

  2. Choose Copy to copy your script tag. It looks like this, with your bot's own ID:

    <script defer src="https://cdn.authava.com/chatbot.js" data-id="{{your_id}}"></script>

  3. Paste it into your website's HTML, just before the closing </body> tag.

  4. Publish your website changes.

How Do I Check That It's Working?

  1. Visit your website.
  2. Look for the chat widget in the bottom-right corner.
  3. Click it and try a conversation.
  4. In Studio, check Activity to see the visit and the conversation.

Should I Install It On Every Page?

Yes. Add the script to your site's shared template or footer so it appears on every page. A common mistake is adding it only to the homepage, which leaves visitors on every other page without the bot.

Will It Slow Down My Website?

Not really. The script loads with defer, so your page appears first and the bot starts afterward, and the file is compressed before it's sent. See Will The Bot Hurt My Page Performance?

Why Isn't The Bot Showing Up?

  • Keep it a plain script tag. Don't wrap it in other JavaScript or load it dynamically. If an AI tool rewrote the snippet into something longer, go back to the one line from Deploy.
  • Check the quotes. Use straight quotes ("), not curly quotes (“ ”). Curly quotes often sneak in when copying from email or documents.
  • Check the placement. Put it before </body>, in a part of the page that actually loads on every page.
  • Check the domain. The bot is set up for the domain in Configure → Appearance. If you're installing on a different domain, update it there.
