Any Website (HTML)

You can add the Authava chatbot to any website with a single line of code: paste its script tag just before the closing </body> tag.

Quick Install

Add this line to your website:

<script defer src="https://cdn.authava.com/chatbot.js" data-id="{{your_id}}"></script>

Once added, the chatbot will load automatically on your site.

Where to place it

Add the script before the closing </body> tag in your HTML.

Example:

<html>
  <body>
    ...
    <script defer src="https://cdn.authava.com/chatbot.js" data-id="{{your_id}}"></script>
  </body>
</html>

Troubleshooting

Keep it simple
If you used AI (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.), make sure it stays a plain <script> tag.
Do not wrap it in JavaScript, dynamically load it, or add event listeners.
This is a one-line install; if it’s more complex than that, it’s likely wrong.

Check your quotes
Make sure you’re using normal quotes: "
Not curved quotes: “ ”
(This often happens when copying from email or documents.)

Placement matters
Ensure the snippet is placed before the closing </body> tag, and not inside a section of the page that doesn’t actually load.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I add a chatbot to my website?

Copy your script tag from Deploy in Studio and paste it before the closing </body> tag on every page, usually in your site's shared template or footer.

Where do I find my bot's ID?

It's already in the script tag shown in Deploy in Studio. Copy the whole line rather than typing the ID yourself.

Will the script slow down my website?

The script loads with defer, so your page appears first and the bot starts afterward. See Will The Bot Hurt My Page Performance?

Why isn't my chatbot showing up?

The most common causes are a snippet rewritten into more complex JavaScript, curly quotes instead of straight quotes, or a snippet placed in a part of the page that doesn't load.
