Authava and Custom Websites

Add one script tag to any custom website, and it has a bot your site's own code can control. It doesn't matter whether your developers, an agency, or an AI coding tool like Claude built the site. A small JavaScript API lets your code open the bot, send it messages, and let it run functions on your page. Any framework works, and so does none.

How Do I Add The Bot To A Custom Site?

Copy your script tag from Deploy in Studio and add it to every page, just before the closing </body> tag:

<script defer src="https://cdn.authava.com/chatbot.js" data-id="{{your_id}}"></script>

If your pages share a template or layout file, add it there once. See Any Website (HTML).

Can An AI Coding Tool Set It Up For Me?

Yes. If you're building your site with an AI coding tool, give it your script tag and the Integrate with your Page guide, and ask it to add the bot and wire up your buttons. The guide's code samples and the live sample page give it everything it needs.

What Can My Site's Code Do With The Bot?

Authava's JavaScript controls let your site:

  • Open and close the bot from your own buttons and links
  • Send a message as the visitor, so a button can start the right conversation
  • Show a tooltip next to the chat button to invite a question
  • Register functions the bot can run on your page, so the bot can take an action in your interface

Can It Go Further Than The Page?

Yes. Your server can call Authava's API, and Authava can call your endpoints at each stage of a conversation. For signed-in users, the bot can know who it's talking to. See Full Integration.
